I think of course finding an island is an important primary step, but it is in my opinion getting ahead of ourselves. If we realistically want to sell this to a substantial group of people. We need a clear vision for what we are planning to provide to any individual who signs up, and what the timeframe is to deliver on each promise.
I am planning to provide research and numbers for each item I have listed soon. I am currently just listing it out in the open forum, to see how each of you individually envision the answer to these fundamental questions.
The key questions to be answered on the installation infrastructure: (in my opinion)
A) How are we guaranteeing open access?
B) What are timeframe, what are upgrade/build schedule?
C) Who paying and administering maintenance on these services?
D) What is the ownership framework?

The key public access musts(please add):
1. Cell phone network
2. Internet access
3. Shipping capable dock
4. Defensive Building(s) - Basic militia supplies training?
5. Public Administration - Immigrate services?
6. Childhood education facilities
7. Adult education facilities
8. Market place
9. Emergency services
10. Courts
11. Transportation ways
12. Sanitation - drinking water?
13. Energy alternative - (personal solar and wind are unreliable - unadaptive)
14. Protected areas? - general environmental protections?
15. Waste management, recycling centre? (energy intensive)
16. Health services
17. Diplomatic administration (who deal with little foreign issues?)
18. Environmental monitoring (volcanic, oceanic actives?)
19. Entertainment square (do people have to front the whole cost of providing entertainment)?
20) Local media and news? |
